Massage and thus touch is one of the oldest forms of therapy and has effects on many different levels. On a direct physical level it stretches and relaxes tense muscles, increasing local blood circulation and stimulating cell metabolism, thus bringing cellular nourishment and removing harmful toxins and waste materials. Adhesions of the connective tissue and the fascia are released. The muscles relax, constriction and pain relieves and freedom of movement improves. 

When our body fully relaxes, our mind and emotions can be still, allowing calmness and reducing anxieties. The autonomic nervous system shuts down, allowing physical and mental relaxation to prevail. The stress is gone, the monkey mind comes to rest.​

Thai Yoga Massage

Thai Yoga Massage is a holistic form of therapy that looks back on a long tradition in Yoga, Ayurveda and Buddhism and has its origin in India. The dynamic massage combines the elements of acupressure, passive yoga and energy work. Characteristic of Thai Yoga Massage are gentle, passive stretches ("Passive Yoga"), rhythmic movements and treatment along the meridians (energy lines). 

Unlike traditional Thai massage, Thai yoga massage uses a gentler type of pressure, which is about slowly sinking into the body, but not against its resistance.

Thai Yoga Massage can lead to deep relaxation, enabling access to long-seated emotions, which can help to remove blockages, and allowing a recalibration and balancing of the energy system.

It is a massage form that takes place on a clothed body, therefore, ccomfortable, stretchy, and loose-fitting clothing is suitable. The treatment takes place on the futon on the floor.

During pregnancy the mother‘s body is continuously changing and adapting to the life growing inside. The unfolding of life is exciting, but it also brings inevitable side effects. As pregnancy progresses, your body’s postural alignment adjusts to the baby’s increasing weight. As a result, the strain is often placed on your back, legs, and joints.

Pregnancy massage is specially tailored for expecting mothers. Your body will be carefully positioned in either the side-lying position or face-down in a prenatal pillow, whichever you choose. Both positions take the pressure off the nerves and arteries in your body.

Pregnancy Massages may reduce symptoms of anxiety, stress, sleep problems and back pain. In some cases, it may help to have fewer complications in the delivery as well as fewer postnatal complications.

 

 

 

Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Lymphatic drainage is a very gentle technique. It is used to increase lymph flow and encourage the natural drainage of toxins, bodily waste, and inflammation from the lymph system. It is beneficial for those who have recently gone through a surgery, dealt with any autoimmune or inflammatory disorders, have swollen lymph nodes and scar appearance reduction treatments. This form of massage is also used for sports injuries caused by accidents such as bruises, sprains, dislocations, torn muscle fibres, fractures and whiplash injuries. Pain in the affected area can be alleviated and the healing process can be accelerated. The drainage relieves the feeling of tension in the body and helps with heavy legs, varicose veins and after vein surgery. In addition, manual lymphatic drainage is used for decongesting, detoxifying and has a strong relaxing and calming effect as well as it strengthens the immune system. The removal of the lymphatic fluid from the tissue is promoted with gentle, rhythmically rotating and pumping techniques. This massage is completed without the use of oil.
